What a weekend. Since last week was our anniversary, I decided to take Genevieve away on a mini-vacation. I've been wanting to check out a Jersey shore bed and breakfast for some time, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity. I checked with my local Jersey shore expert Jen Miller, who recommended that we check out Inn at the Park in Cape May, NJ. We did, and the place and people were wonderful. The Inn is run by Jay and Mary Ann Gorrick, and it is a gorgeous Victorian home that is over 100 years old. Jay is a gourmet chef, and besides a wonderful breakfast, they also serve you wine and hors d'oeuvres each afternoon. They were both very friendly and welcoming, and I would recommend their bed and breakfast to anyone who is thinking about a trip to the area. We're already thinking about another trip next year.

On Sunday, instead of heading back home to South Plainfield, we stopped and spent the day in Stone Harbor. We watched the Giants destroy the Chiefs at a local pub while we waited for Emily and Steve to show up so that we could shoot some engagement photos. Emily is Genevieve's best friend from High School, and Genevieve will be the maid of honor in her wedding next October. Emily and Steve are both wonderful people, and the shoot was a lot of fun. Genevieve was a great director, organizing all the shots and keeping the models under control. The photos came out well, and this is one of my favorites.

  • Gen » This is a great picture! I love love love it. Emily and Steve were good, cooperative models. And good job, Justin, with the lighting and the "fuzzy backgrounds," as Emily calls them. Can't wait for the rest to be on flickr!
  • Emily » Justin does the best lighting and fuzzy backgrounds (and foregrounds!). And the models only pose as good as their director instructs them to - Genevieve did an awesome job and thought of so many good poses!

We are so excited to see the rest of the pictures, I am sure they are going to look awesome!
