Katrina Wading at Sunrise

Lost Coastlines

Canon EOS 5D, 24 mm, 1/800 sec, f 10, 250

I'm home now from Stone Harbor, and back to work, but only for a week. Friday night I'll be leaving once again, this time to spend 5 days camping up in Maine at Acadia National Park. I'm in the middle of moving back to South Plainfield over the next few days though, so Friday seems very far away.

This image was taken as soon as I arrived in Stone Harbor. I had driven up by myself, and everyone else was caught in terrible traffic, so I had several hours by myself to walk around and explore. It was a stormy, cloudy morning which eventually gave way to a beautiful afternoon. The rest of my Stone Harbor shots will be less depressing.

  • Gen » I miss Stone Harbor already.
  • Katrina » Me too. *cry*
  • Mrs. Faust » I don't think any photo of Stone Harbor is ever depressing. Well, I guess dead things on the beach would be morose, but any other Stone Harbor scene lifts my spirits and precipitates serenity.
  • Justin Gaynor » So you mean I shouldn't post up any photos of the dead shark?
  • Gen » What do you mean, dead shark? It swam back into the ocean when Dan put it there.
  • Katrina » ummmmmm gen, i don't know how to break this to you, but the shark did NOT swim away.
  • Allison » Great lighting... the red letters on the boat are a nice contrast to the rest of the photo. Looking forward to more shots from this trip.
  • Tim » No, this is not depressing at all. But a wonderful shot I would say.

Dead shark ??!!! I wanna see that one...
  • Mrs. Faust » The shark was still breathing. We didn't see it swim away, but we didn't see it wash back up either. I think it was having a slow recovery time. I'm sure the photo you have is of a struggling shark in a compromising position out of water.
  • raidah » oh man, solitary. loved this
